Gmail Sync

Maybe on gmails end there might be an option. The manual sync is the little circular arrow in the bottom right corner when you are in your inbox [also a "refresh" button].

Now when I manually sync, it takes care of it.

Is there way this can happen automatically? Right now my account settings concernign syncing are:
All-Show Mail
As items arrive-Get Mail

Thats the settings i have too. I think everyone using imap will have the same. Joe if you go to labs you'll notice a Advanced imap control. Helps to empty trash can when you delete from phone. Works once in awhile(Testing phase).
