    Default Gmail Sync

I have my gmail account set up on my pre. When I get an email, I get a notification, and all is well and good. But, if I read that email on my computer, instead of my phone, the pre doesn't recognize that I've read the email. On the flip-side, if I read the email on the Pre, Gmail accepts that I read it, and marks it as such.

    Why the one-way communication?
    Will this get fixed?

On a tangential note: Does the pre have a "mark all as read" function, or do I have to read each email individually?

Right now it is very basic, if i remember correctly when you read it on your comp it should be in grey on the Pre, right now pre does not have "mark all as read" but more functions are coming with next update.

Pre so easy to use even a caveman can use it.

I understand that it's gray when I read it. But I physically have to read it on the pre for it to become gray. If I read it on my pc, the pre doesn't register that I've read it. So, my pre inbox still says that I have 1 new message, and the message is black when I open up my inbox.

If you are using pop it won't sync that way. If you are set up to be using IMAP then it should be syncing both ways. Check that you have IMAP setup on both your Pre and in gmail. Also check your get email frequency.

Have you tried manually syncing your gmail on your phone to update read/unread status?

How do I do that manual sync?

I have it set up as IMAP now. I followed some directions that I found online, and insofar as I'm getting email, I assume it's correct. But at this point, it's still not working. Is there something I need to do on Gmail's end maybe?

I'm using IMAP after following these instructions. But still, no 2 way sync:
    Mail Type: IMAP
    Email Address:

    Incoming Mail Server
    Server Name: imap.gmail.com
Username: Same as you entered for Email Address above.

    Password: Enter your password.
    Port #: 993
    Encryption: SSL
    Outgoing Mail Server
    Server Name: smtp.gmail.com
    Use Authentication: Yes
    Port#: 465
    Encryption: SSL
    Root Folder: leave blank

When I go to the IMAP/POP/Forwarding tab of the settings, it says I have IMAP enabled. Is there something else I should be doing?
