HELP! Rooted Pre, screwed up file
I rooted my Pre and started hacking the Messaging to put on time stamps and open new messages in a new card. In the process, I managed to make a typo and messed it all up.
Is there somebody that could take the following two pages and send them to me:
/usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.messaging/app/controllers/listview-assistant.js
and
/usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.messaging/app/controllers/chatview-assistant.js
I would greatly appreciate this!
PS: I am the same guy who doesn't ever read directions... go figure huh!

Files are too big to attach here... Where do you want them sent to?

Awesome thanks! Kasl33 (at) gmail +dot+ com

Just post the script & copy paste with vi
-
Palm might not like that. Plus, they are a lot of lines and pasting the lines here could make a mess of the formatting
-
Did you get what you need yet?

I got what I needed. Thanks Rebar!
Unfortunately, the files still have some corruption in them and I don't know what it is. Now the whole messaging app comes up as white space. I wish I had ftp access to the phone so that I could know that the nano and/or vi editors aren't screwing up the code.
I had to use nano even though I always prefer vim because vim was all wierd and buggy through the Putty SSH Client (going in RAW mode). Putty always messes up vim for some reason and has for years for me.

When I first started rooting I messed mines up pretty bad. I just did the Web restore and started from scratch again. Also all the js files are in the nova-cust-image-castle.rootfs.zip image in WebOs doctor image if you downloaded it. Hope that helps.

This is probably the best recommendation. Knowing this makes me feel better about being a little more adventurous.

This is exactly why Pre closed the loop hole, dont get me wrong i am also a developer but i dont have the you know what to hack in to. You should have used the Palm Emulator for testing before using your own Pre.
Pre so easy to use even a caveman can use it.
Hit The Thanks Button If Anyone Helped You.
