Donny Osmond pwnz the Palm Pre, because the pre is jus a little bit of iPhone and a little bit of Blackberry.
Donny Osmond, on the other hand, is a little bit ROCK AND ROLL!

Is anyone else worried that Pre ver 1.0 might have similar problems worthy of waiting for 6 or so months to see how the early adopters fare???

well.. being that palm's been working on the pre for almost 2 years... no i'm not too worried. I'm not naive enough to think that the OS will be flawless at launch but I really don't think we have another Storm debacle on our hands.. RIM was rushing to get the storm out by black friday and palm is taking it's time to make sure that everything is working great before they even announce the launch date. So.. no i'm not too worried about it.

Nope.
As Hopper said, the Storm was rushed to market (not to mention basically RIM's way of saying "screw what we do well, we're gonna be like everyone else and make a touchscreen phone") and failed because of it.
If Palm finds a way to make this phone suck, they deserve to be bought out/buried in tech history. 2 years, and all the available cash, R & D, and everything else that's going into this phone better at least replenish their coffers.

I agree with what has been said. I think Palm has worked hard on this phone and is trying to bring out as close to bug free OS as they can. The one difference that I remember about the Storm launch was the fact that I never really saw hands on videos prior to launch. It was all these pictures of what seemed to be a high res screen and a highly anticipated typing interface. It was not until after the Storm launch that hands on videos came out. On the other hand you have the Pre which has been shopped around quite a bit. In the videos I have seen it does not look to have the same interface issues and glitchy OS that the Storm did. There will be drawbacks (possibly keyboard size) but I don't believe it will be on the same level as the Storm.
"That's the iPhone, solving life's dilemmas, one App at a time!"
While the Pre gives you the ability to solve more than one dilemma simultaneously!
