Palm Pre Wishlist / Keep or Return?

In regard to manual lock, you can pusht the 'power' button off whenever you want and it turns off the screen, and you cant make accidental calls.

right... the first reply to this post corrected my gaffe... manual screen lock works very well. I like the way there is a slight delay after you push the power button so that if its an accidental lock you can reopen quickly w/out having to type in the password. Nice touch Palm.

If there is a way to dial an alphanumeric number on the Pre as you can on a Blackberry, I haven't found it.

For e.g., I have a speed dial on my phone for 800-GOOG411. On the Pre, I had to look up the numeric version because the Pre didn't know how to convert GOOG to numbers.

yeah, yeah... enthusiasm is good, but getting past the "team sport" aspect of comparison between Pre vs. iPhone vs. BB are what makes a site like this helpful. Otherwise, we're just Johnny six pack trash talking... RedSox!! No, Yanks! No Red Sox!!.... zzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZzzzzz

its worth it. Its a great phone with a few minor defects but they are seeming to fix those on the newer batches and are honoring their warranty and everything else.

- Cursor movement is very imprecise, and even worse than the iPhone with its mini magnifier. Blackberry has figured this out... any possibility of making the bottom button work as a mouse like the Blackberry roller to allow a precise cursor placement? The holding the orange key down and using your finger to move the cursor probably works for Edward Scissor hands or Freddie Kruger, but for the rest of us with fleshy fingers, its very clumsy and slow to get a cursor to move exactly where you need it.

yeah I thought the same thing but it will probably get better once they work out the major stuff. The thing that gets me is the notification ringing in your ear when you are on the phone and its loud as crap. Maybe they should make that where it automatically gets superlow when you are on the phone. Like when you get call waiting call. Because its LOUD!!!

my old phone did that, nothing new

I have tiny hands and the Pre is perfect!!!!!!!! My boyfriend has the G1 phone and he always jokes that his can do everything mine can do, but he admits that the Pre is prettier :-) Plus having a mirror is awesome!
