Default Submit your questions for Palm

I'll be meeting with product managers for Palm on Friday at 10:00 am. I expect we'll have lots of questions for them. If you have any specific questions, post them in this thread and I'll do what I can to get them answered.

Off the top of my head:

I think one of the biggest questions for long term PalmOS users is about Nova's backwards compatibility for current apps. Simply put, will my favorite Treo apps run on the new device(s)?

Can we finally look forward to built-in Wi-fi? Bluetooth 2.0? Built-in GPS?

    Default questions

ahhh somebody beat me to it....yes backwards compatibility.
also will the device be multi touch capable and/or is that in the pipeline for future devices? also does nova allow for it?
is it going to be blackberry compatible? (read a rumor about that)
    how about

Well, I'd really like to see better BlueTooth support. My 700p works with my bluetooth
headset but cannot easily do voice dialing even with addon software. It should be standard and come with the product.

Good call. I believe both HFP (hands-free, which includes voice dialing) and A2DP (stereo audio) are both part of Bluetooth 2.0, but it may be manufacturer dependent.

    Backwards compatability is a must!
Also, Wi-fi? Bluetooth 2.0? Built-in GPS? (I could even do without GPS. Come on people, lets learn to read a map?!)

Documents to Go upgrade is a must. Memo (updated would be nice), Private files upgrade?
But will we be able to continue to send receive files and data with Bluetooth?

    So, far that covers it.

Turn-by-turn directions are pretty handy, especially if you do a lot of driving in new locations (sales/consulting).

Version 10 at least would be nice. I saw zero reason to pay for an upgrade to 11. It should have been a point upgrade, IMO.
    Memo (updated would be nice)
What do you mean updated? I like the fact that memos are plain text. They're useful for quick notes. If I want something formatted, I'll use Docs to Go.

I can't see them dropping this.

Integrated GPS ? ..not the sort where you use google maps, but something like TomTom, Navman etc like the HTC smartphones. It should have a good chip (like Surfstar III) and a fast processor (> 400 MHz) for rapid (re-)calculation of directions.

    Default Business Professional

    Hi Chris:

Wish I was there with you! I'm a mobile professional that uses his phone for business. Seems like most of the new phones with the exception of Blackberry, are designed for kids. I've always liked the Palm platform (I have a Treo 650), but I need something to keep me in touch during the day that's easy to type on. I've always found the Treo to be very ackward to type on (Centro and the Pro are too small). I could switch to Blackberry, but I like the huge offering of software for the Palm. Will the new phone keep me in the game? Ditto on the others comments...

    David
