    Favorite Text Messaging

Since I text a lot, i am curious to know how many text messages can the pre hold on to, and more importantly, how many text messages can one send at once. I currently have the Instict and sadly can only send a message to only 10 people at once. Which this leaves me curious to find out if one can send a text or mms to a group? I guess this ties in to the way contacts are stored as well.

    Any thoughts/guesses/suggestions on this anyone?:tounge:

With 8 gigs on-board, I highly doubt you'll need to worry about the number of texts the Pre can store (unless, of course, you load it up with a bunch of other stuff).

Hopefully, Palm has taken this into account and expanded the amount of texts your phone can store at once. The Treo series holds around 500 messages per contact (which is plenty for me, I can even use this to call out my friends on things they've said in the past that are no longer true. lol) and automatically deletes the oldest message in the conversation to make room for new ones.

As for being able to text/MMS more than 10 people at once, that's more of an issue of how much data Sprint allows you to transfer at once; which is also why your phone is usually limited in how much time you're allowed to record videos and send them out.

All of this will be a mute point if Palm went the direction I think they did and expanded the text/MMS list from 10 to, let's say, 25.

for the amount of memory it has, i would hope it would be able to hold many. the reason why i am curious to know is because i have over 300 contacts and if i want to send (example) a joke, it's so time consuming selecting each contact one by one every time going back and forth from message to address book to add. i had the sanyo M1 prior to the instinct and i was able to send a text up to 50 contacts at once, it even made a group out of the people i has used last and it was a lot faster process and of course a lot more people i could send message to. i hope the pre shows innovation in this area! *fingers cross

There should be a cap on the memory usage to keep it from freaking out b/c it does not have virtual memory

it kind of depresses me that being able to send stupid jokes to all of your friends that probably even don 't care is an important issue..
don't mean to be rude but there's so much this phone can do that if it can only send 10 messages at once, that shouldn't be a major downer
