3rd party GPS services are probably my biggest hope. Sprint's GPS policies are pretty good compared to the lockdown-loving nature of VZW, but with this new phone we will see. Kinoma would be nice, but I'm not sure what kind of feature list the default media player will have.
I guess I don't use a lot of apps, but I hope that webOS will catch on and aquire a robust program list quickly.

I donīt know Kinoma but I think they will launch Pre with Pocket Tunes as usual Has Kinoma more features than Pocket Tunes?
GPS is in their list as included. Brand Google I guess , Maybe just for maps For tracks or waypoints donīt know.

The biggest thing I hope for on the side of applications is the consolidation of places to get them. While there is a sort of satisfaction of discovering a small WM app in the depths of the net, you have to sift through endless "databases" filled with poorly-written programs and collections of wallpapers.
I hope this fresh new OS will use quality as its guideline and not quantity.

Will be one main store at Palm and web Palm branches and sorted by categories and prices We have to make our own preferences list to find it easy I hope developers will use same names apps have now for a fast pick up.

I haven't used a Palm Device since my Palm VII pda years ago, so I have no idea about palm specific applications. However, I can say I agree about the 3rd party GPS, I would also like to see Internet Connection Sharing like WM6.1. What kind of word processing/datasheet management applications come with palm devices??? This is pretty important to me, and something I feel my Q has been lacking.

I used to have a Handspring Visor Deluxe, but webOS seems/looks to be COMPLETELY different from the old Palm OS. I don't really remember any of the applications for it either.
Docs to Go is also on WM (I believe it came with the Qs), so the Palm version shouldn't be too different.

Take a memo
I'm hoping that the Pre will still have the Memos app. I use that app more often that most. But I'm also hoping for CallRecord that automatically records calls and Central, a utility app that lets you send a "kill" text to erase all the data from the phone and sd card in case it's lost. I lost my treo while traveling and this app gave me great comfort. The Palm eReader, of course, and Audible.
