Desktop software Palm Pre reminders: a "Denovation" (anti-innovation)

"Denovation" is my word for the opposite of innovation.

For me, the most awesome, life-changing feature of the Palm Pilot--carried over to the Treo--was the ability to set and customize reminders. If I needed a reminder of an event two weeks ahead or two hours ahead, I could customize the time interval and a reminder would come up at that time. .

With the Pre, you can set an alarm 1 day, 1 hour, 30 minutes, 15 minutes, 10 minutes, 5 minutes in advance or at start time and THAT'S IT. No other intervals. What if I need a reminder two hours or two weeks in advance?? Create a separate event.

    Are you kidding me?

This (and the fact that I have been unsuccessful syncing my calendar with Entourage thru Missing Sync) compels me to carry my Treo AND my Pre around--one for my calendar/reminders, and one for everything else!

It's beyond imagining that Palm of all outfits would flub reminders.

    Denovation! :dft007:angry

    Palm, please fix this!

Can someone fix this with an app??

(Other grievances about smartphones in general that I posted in January here:

I feel your pain. All I can say is be patient. Hopefully, all these little things will eventually be fixed with future WebOS updates.

Thanks, I sure hope. By the way, I posted the wrong link, it's http://womanhattan.com/daily/?p=23

Palm has made some innovations, but still has a ways to go.
