Question Pre WebOS and integration of 3rd party hardware

Even tho the Pre and its platform WebOS are in their infancy, they better grow up quick… Apple just released its 3.0 SDK and it has some really advanced integrations for future 3rd party hardware interfaces including medical equipment (Glucometer, blood pressure cuff, etc…) see This Article.

This got me thinking about not only how WebOS apps have big shoes to fill, but how it can be equally as competitive with Apple.

I wonder what other field specific app/hardware interface WebOS will be able to support??

Interesting question.. I imagine the sky would be the limit as far as what could be done. Just a matter of profitability for 3rd parties when it comes to developing any hardware to work with the webOS.

However it works out, I doubt we'll see any big developments on that front until there are multiple webOS devices out across many carriers (and the world).
