Default Twitter App for webOS and Palm Pre

I never thought I would be into Twitter, but it's become a must have app for the Palm Pre. I'm hoping we'll see some great Twitter apps on the Pre.

BTW, if you are on Twitter, please follow Everything Pre.

    Some big opportunities for devs!

    Default Twitter App

Is there a twitter app for the 755p that I can use besides "motwit" until I upgrade to the pre?

    Thanks!

I haven’t found anything and I have been looking. Have you ever tried to install Java Virtual Machine JVM on your phone; It would give you Java functionality in your browser. (However, the last time I installed JVM on my Treo 700, it developed frequent reset issues… not sure about the 755)

Also, I went into my twitter account and turned on SMS alerts so I get texts of others’ tweets whom I am following. (Only do this if you have unlimited SMS from your carrier) Then I use Motwit to tweet my stuff.

    • I have a Twitter related question about this set up… I get tweets where someone says “@mikekafes blah blah message. Will motwit alow the “@”specific messages? Has anyone ever had success using “@”specific messages via SMS??

I'm thinking third party developers will develop them left and right. I have a blackberry 8830 and currently use TinyTwitter. It's muy excellente.

I tried Twitterberry and a couple of others, but they're not as robust and full-featured as the TinyTwitter. I'd seriously consider paying money for the app, that's how good it is.

I have used a few of the twitter apps for WM and they usually kill my Q9c. I would really like to see a twitter app on the pre that is more like TweetDeck, with touch screen operations (like reply and Retweet) and where you can seperate and sort your favorites or search items.

With all the "twittering" going on, I have no doubt there will be a Twitter app, and for me just as important is a Facebook app.

I agree Connie - The question is how long before they start hitting the App Catalog?

The general consensus among iPhone users is that "Tweetie" is the best iPhone Twitter app. Would love to see a webOS version. I don't think that's too much to ask for?

    • Handle multiple twitter accounts.
    • View your timeline, replies, direct messages and favorites.
    • Browse your friends and followers.
    • Post new tweets, retweet
    • Reply directly to tweets and send direct messages.
    • Follow and unfollow people.
    • Mark tweets as favorites.
    • Navigate reply chains.
    • Inline web browser.
    • Post links with automatic link shrinking via bit.ly.
    • Upload pictures to twitpic.com.
    • Update your twitter location.
    • View twitter trends and perform custom searches.
    • Save your favorite searches.
    • Implements the full twitter API.
    • Uses secure connection (https).
    • Go to User shortcut
    • Nearby search
    • Themes and adjustable font size
    • Bookmarklet support

I have to wonder why a Twitter app would needed at all. I mean, why not just go to the website? Presumably it would only be favorite away.

    Best,
