Long stated that he believes, “Android will step up in importance at many operators, which, ex-Sprint, would put PALM in the position of fourth OS (AAPL, RIMM, Android) and sometimes even lower.”

Palm not doing so good, someone should come in and buy palm out.

My wife will be getting the Moment if she likes the hard keyboard, and i am looking forward to getting the Hero. But currently the Hero also has its problems with SMS lot of people complaining about the Hero here and in the UK that no sms is coming threw. HTC is working on the fix.
I've been saying for last 3yrs that someone needs to come in and buy Palm out. Honestly, I think it should be Dell.

I think it should be LG or MS, but not Dell. Wonder why Nokia or T-Mobile did not buy it.

MS would be a great choice. Danger was a bad acquisition for them if you ask me. I was thinking Sprint should have bought them out when the stock was low.

Sprint has no idea or no clue how to do that, there is no service provider that own its own OS, even though that be great idea but i dont think they would do that, LG is the logical choice they build good phones and they can use webOS.

Never had anything by LG. Their stuff alwasy looks like they stole the designs from someone else. I'm suprised that none of the providers thought about buying them. I guess if Sprint bought them MS & Google would be kinda upset and not want to have phones on their service.

What about Nokia? sounds liek a good purchase for them, epescially since their US market share does so low.

Nokia has its own OS and now they are coming out with a new OS, they did think about buying Palm but changed mind. As i look around and see all these droids coming out it makes me think what is Palm waiting for? they should release small updates instead of 1 big one, at least it shows the people that they are working and not sleeping.

Good point. Verizon is getting ready to get alot of business from this "Droid" line.

Why cant one company have more than one OS? To me its just giving them choices? Nokia or MS could buy Palm and still develop WebOS while making advancements in S60 or Windows Mobile

That is a great question, I have no answer. I hope that someone will come in and buy Palm before the investors run to the hills.
