    Default Is this true?

I just went to a sprint kiosk in the mall, and they actually have a pre available for me to buy.( been on a wait list at all the stores in my area) So Im ready to buy it, but since I'm an existing SERO customer he said that since my 1 year is not up on that contract I can't get the rebates for the phone. And that I'm not a new customer. So the only rebate I get is $75 off of the $549. Nearly full price for the phone.

I thought that if you sign a new 2 year agreement. You get the phone for $199? Is this deal for new sprint customers only? When I was with verizon, they always gave me all the rebates and discounts just for signing a new 2 year agreement. I was willing to get off of my SERO plan, but Im not sure anymore if Im paying nearly full price for it. I'd rather buy a iphone 3gs for that price..

I don't think any of the major cell phone company's will give a person the new customers price while they are in contract. Sprint is the most generous as far as I know. With them, a premier customer will the the discounts after one year instead of two years. I'm not sure, but most company's will allow a two month reprieve (that is to say 22 months instead of 24). I really don't think if a person bought a phone from Verizon and two months later wanted to change phones, they would give all the rebates.

I never had a problem on verizon, i switched between phones under contract, maybe not just 2 months into it, but it was definitly before the agreement was up. As long as I'm renewing, all they care about is that I'm still with them. (at the time)

Verizon has a New Every Two program where you get it at the subsidized (new customer) price after 20 months I believe. They also offer a discounted upgrade price after a year but it is not near as good as the fully subsidized cost that a new customer or existing customer that is upgrade eligible would get.
