Default Palm Treo Pro for Sprint

Well got an email from Palm saying they have just released, well March 16th, the Palm Treo Pro. Why would they release something like that, looks like a Blackberry, when the Pre is supposedly being released soon for Sprint ? Sounds like bad marketing to me or they might be trying to sucker in the uninformed to buy a Pro before the Pre is released.

edit : Oh ok it is a Windows Mobile device and the Pre is web OS

You answered you're own question mid-post. Treo Pro is a very capable Windows Mobile device. Windows Mobile has a devout following and the Treo Pro is one of the better devices out on that platform.

Yah being a Mac user Windows devices aren't my thing but, being a devoted Sprint customer I didn't want to switch to AT&T just so i could get a iPhone. I almost bout a new phone a few months ago until the Sprint salesman showed told me about the Palm Pre. Went home, Googled it and now I am expectantly waiting for the release

The Pre has more widespread appeal. As a Mac user, I'd recommend pushing your contacts to Google. That will be the best way to get your contacts on the Pre. Go to Address Book > Preferences > Sync with Google.

Of course, you'll need a Google account, but that's easy enough to set up.

    Default naming gaming

I found it a little wierd that there is a Pro and Pre. Can we just call these the prefix phones??? Little wierd but having used a treo 700 with PalmOS and windows mobile, I actually prefer the 700w. Still isn't stopping me from getting a Professional Pre! Or was it Previous Pro? Or a PrePro Or a ProPre? So I guess there are sillier names they could have come up with....
