| Periodic loss of Vision connection This issue was briefly touched on in this thread, but I thought I would start a new thread to discuss it, as it may not be firmware update related. My Treo loses connection to Vision at least a couple of times a day. The only way to reestablish a Vision connection is to either power cycle the radio, or to perform a soft reset. This renders apps like Snappermail and QuickNews less effective, as they're unable to update automatically.
I'm curious how many others are having this issue, and on what firmware version?

| Loss of Vision connectivity I've been having this problem since January. It's happened both before and since I updated the firmware. Where it initially seemed like a once-a-day thing, it's now happening several times a day. I know this because I've been doing a soft reset when I wake up in hopes to avoid it. That's not doing it any more. I use Agendus Pro and Mail, so it affects the automatic updates for both of them. Not to mention it's a pain when I want to show someone how cool one of the features or apps is, then I have to explain why I need to "reboot" my Treo.

| Loss of Vision....progresss? Due to my work schedule and the fact I don't have a landline in my house, I haven't been able to get Sprint on a landline about this until today (I'd emailed them and they replied that I'd need to call). Anyway, after about 30 mins on the phone with Tech Support, no joy. He tried a couple things, including trying to re-install my Vision over the phone. Unfortunately, once it was uninstalled, the Sprint Vision Provisioning wouldn't work! A work order was opened; I'm waiting for someone to call me about that now. So now I have absolutely NO Vision on my Treo.

| Good luck with Sprint. I'm still power cycling my phone a few times a day.

| No real help from Sprint Tech Support. They were finally able to reconfigure my Vision, which worked great.....for a little while. I went right back to the same issues, even adding my apps back one at a time. I'm still having to either reset or turn the phone off and back on.
It's not the right fix but I wish Zlauncher (which does have a reset option under the mneu) could reset at set intervals. I could schedule my mail and other auto-updates right after the reset.
Kreth, does a once-daily reset or power down/up still do it for you?

It's a minor annoyance, because it only takes a few seconds to do, but there's not really any point in scheduling say, feed updates in Quick News, because they don't happen.

| Was Agendus the problem? I had still been having my Vision-access problems. I had Agendus Mail set to check for new messages every hour and Agendus Pro set to update my Today screen at 4-hr intervals, beginning at 4 a.m. I'm thinking my problem may have been caused by these 2 apps trying to get at Vision at the same time. I disabled the auto mail last night and haven't had any problems so far. I'm going to enable Mail and disable the Pro updates and see how that goes.

| Agendus Pro may have been most of my problem A few days ago, I enabled Agendus Mail updates and disabled Agendus Pro automatic updates and I've only encountered a few problems accessing Vision. I really think the big problem for me may have been a conflict created by Mail and Pro trying to access at the same time. So I'm going to leave my Treo like this. I can handle updating the Pro things manually. Not the ideal solution, but...

| I have had my 650 for about 2 months now and I have not had any major vision problems yet. The only issue I have is that the Sprint folks sold me with the fact that it would be as fast as a DSL line or cable. Now I knew that was not true. Realistically I would bet I download at the best is 10kbs. Every once in a while the connection will seem to timeout for about 1 to 2 seconds, but then comes right back. That does not happen often. Most times it was quite smooth.
But yeah, not to go on a tangent about the speeds, but I was told I would be able to cruise at over 200kbs. That may be the case if they lengthened a second to a minute.
But back to the topic, I have no 3rd party software installed which I am unaware if that helps the stability of my phone. |

I've learned that your download speeds with Sprint depend on location. There are some major markets that have the faster connectivity. I feel your pain, though. I'm in Columbia, SC, and I've got regular speed data. Oh, well.
