Question about employer-based discounts
I'm looking at switching over to Sprint for a Pre (from using an iPhone) mainly because I get no cell service in my new place on ATT's network.
I went to the Sprint website and did the thing where you enter your work email to see if you are eligible for any discounts. I got the email response back giving me a link to my "private store" thing, but when I go to that website it says, "Welcome [Company Name] Employees."
Only problem is [Company Name] is not my company and my email domain shouldn't be tied to this company in anyway, though I'm sure the company is used as a contractor where I work. Will this be a problem or should I just make a point of doing this kind of thing at the store when I go?

um jus bring ur paycheck or sumthing only employees have to the sprint store when u sign up.

Personally, I just called the customer service center to see if I was eligible for a discount.
My employer (over 100,000 employees) has several discounts lined up. The customer service person just went through them real quick, and told me which was the best.
That was nice- like a 20% discount just for making a phone call.
I didn't need to supply any sort of backup information...email, address, nothing. Which was really nice.

Karl - did your 20% discount apply to everything? The phone purchase, your monthly plan cost, accessories?
My wife's employer offers her a 20% discount for the Sprint plan. They also offer discounts on SOME of the phones, but don't have any info on Pre discounts given that pricing hasn't even been announced yet.

I am on SERO, and I plan to get a Pre on Day 1. If I switch to Everything Data, then my sister gets a family plan with her 23% corporate discount a week or two later, can I fold my E.D. into the family plan without penalty?

not telling you to scam Sprint, but this worked for me and it was legit at the time.
I was working with Primerica (Financial Instutition for Citi) and they offered a discount for that. I am also employed with the State of NJ, got a discount for that, and I told them it was a work phone (used for my work). In total, I have 27% discount... which is a good 40 bucks a month I'm saving...

Topaz...you can't combine SERO with corporate employee discounts....it's one or the other...
KingRican... I don't think they stacked the discounts from both employers. They probably took the larger of the two (Citi, more than likely). It shouldn't matter whether you use it for work. You get the discount by being an employee.
Lazar - the corporate employee discounts are for monthly recurring charges only and don't apply to the cost of the devices themselves. Corporate Liable (company owned and paid for) phones get discounts on the devices themselves. It's unusual to see discounts on phones that are employee-owned, but sometimes it happens if a third party or dealer is running the employee discount program for that company.
