| Slightly annoyed with Sprint So I've been having an issue for a bit where my Treo won't make a data connection if I don't use it for a bit. Palm released a serial update a while back that was supposed to correct the issue, but it caused resets and other fun (more info here).
I went into the local Sprint store tonight, and the sales rep spent about 1 1/2 hours on the phone with tech support. After all this, I was told I needed to go to a Sprint store with a repair center for a full diagnostic. Unfortunately, the nearest such Sprint store is over an hour away.
I'm now considering my options: waste half a day this weekend to get the diagnostic done, use my TEP plan, or talk to Retentions and see if they're willing to do anything for me.
Any suggestions?

| Hi Kreth:
Sorry to hear of your problems, but perhaps this is your chance to get that 755 upgrade out of Sprint you mentioned in another post?
I am a bit curious about the connection problem. I am on Sprint and I have not seen that. Is it due to the area you are in or is it a hardware problem?
Regards,
SteveTaz

A replacement 650 would be nice, but I understand they're scarce. Assurion seems to have most of them. Quote: |

| I've had it happen on trips as well as in my home area. The tech last night seemed to think it was hardware.

| I think Retentions is a good next step. In talking to them, be sure to mention how far away your full service Sprint store is...I think that will help. I agree, you might be closer to that 755p than you think.

| I have begun thinking about a 755P now that Sprint has it. I played with one a couple of days ago and liked the feel of the key pad. I am not really happy about the smaller SD card and its location. As for the camera, I noticed it was lower and that may take a bit of getting use to.

| Well, I got tired of the run-around from Sprint. I took the hit on my TEP, they'll be sending me a refurb 650. I'll still be eligible to upgrade in Feb. next year.

| I'm surprised you didn't at least get offered a 700p. I've read alot on the net about no more 650s being used as replacements. Guess it's a matter of location and luck.

| Well, I got my refurb 650 yesterday, and activated it today. Popped in my SD card and ran a restore with BackupBuddy. So far, so good. 5+ hours after activation, and no data stalls.
Now I just need to see if I can salvage the invisibleSHIELD from my old 650 before I send it to Assurion.

| The excitement builds.....
Seriously Kreth, I hope it works out well for you. The few rebuilds of assorted products I have had through the years all turned out rather well.
