Default Sprint crooks

I bought a Sprint Treo 650 in Feb. There was a 15 day risk free period. No service at home, office, or most of where I travel to. So I returned it the next day.
Sprint still has not returned my $380 yet! It's been 3 months. Every week they tell me the check is 5 days away. This has been going on for 3 months!

I have extensively dealed with Verizon and Cingular for many years. Sprint is by far the WORST company I've ever dealt with. I filed with my credit card company to dispute this. Sprint told them that they sent me the check. THis is B.S. I still have a $380 credit on my statement.

For those that complain about Verizon Customer Service, never try Sprint. THey are WAY worse.

By the way, they hung up an me again today. THey keep transferring me to different departments. I elevated to management and Iwas told that they are going through a system change with Nextel, that's their excuse.

I find a good tactic is informing them that you will be contacting the state Attorney General's office. I had to go this route a few years ago when Verizon tried to tell me that I had never paid a deposit even after I faxed them a copy of my credit card statement. I had my refund two days later...
If they don't respond, then follow up on your threat.

If you have pre-paid legal, even better. Nothing will make anyone shake in their boots more than when an attorney calls representing a customer who has a complaint that involves money.

I have tried for 3 days to terminate my Nextel service because I don't want to keep it after the service agreement expired. First tactic is that when you select option #3, then 1 to terminate a line, you will get a momentary hold music, then you will hear someone pick up but no answer when you say hello. You will hear about 10 sec's worth of background noise and the line goes dead...your call disconnects!!! What a bunch of crooks. I called my friend who USED to work for Nextel and he told me that all associates where instructed to NOT LET THE CLIENT CANCEL THEIR SERVICE! Can you believe that garbage? I called again and again for 4-5 times and decided to stop trying. I then sent an email to Nextel's customer service to get my service terminated, still no reply from Nextel up until today. This morning, I called again and this time I got a hold of someone who seemed helpful. I was told that my contract was for 2 years not the 1 year I originally signed up for and that terminating my service now will incurr an early termination fee. I told the rep that I am looking at my copy of the service agreement and it shows TERM # of months = 12. She asked me to fax this to her and she'll call me back, I did. But I did not get a call back for the rest of the morning up until the late afternoon so I finally called again. I went thru 3 call disconnections identical to what was happening during my initial attempts to terminate my service. At the 4th attempt, I got someone, its a he this time. He asked me to fax my service agreement, I faxed it over. He made me wait for 15 min on the line and still they have not received my fax. My fax machine printed a confirmation page stating that the fax was received. I finally ended up scanning the document, converted it into PDF, and emailing it to this person. Only then, that they finally admitted that I am on a 1 year plan. So I thought that they will terminate the service no questions asked. This is when the grilling started: 1) why were you unhappy with the service, 2) you should upgrade your phone because your phone is old (my phone is an i860, its not that old), 3) How about if I upgrade you to a CDMA phone (Sprint PCS)?, yada yada yada!! I'm thinking to myself, after all the trouble that I went thru, why on earth would I consider staying with them for another term?? I might have done dumb things in the past but I ain't stupid. I answered the rep with a firm NO THANK YOU! I don't care if they have the great Treo 700wx...nothing is going to make me stay with Sprint/Nextel, not even if they give me the damn phone for free! I'm going back to Verizon, they're service is more reliable and their customer service is by far better than Sprint or Nextel or whatever you wanna call them. Verizon did not even put me thru this crap when I cancelled on them to switch to Nextel. Remember when I said that I have done dumb things in the past?? This is one of them...I'd be stupid to stay with Sprint/Nextel.

Sorry for the lengthy post but just as it is agonizing to read this entire post, I promise you that dealing with Sprint/Nextel will prove to be more agonizing. And BTW, this was not my first time dealing with Sprint, I have dealt with them 4 yrs ago and when I tried to cancel within the backout period of 14 days, I got the same annoying rep trying to change my mind and not terminate. Just goes to show how confident Verizon is with their product and service. Sprint/Nextel on the other hand are desperate, and their trying all the tactics they can come up with to retain subscribers just like AOL is doing now, giving out free AOL subscriptions but there are hidden tactics to entrap you in exchange for the free service.

What a bunch of crooks!

That really sucks. I finally filed a complaint with BBB and the next day I got a call from Sprint asking why I filed the complaint. I told them that literally 25+ phone calls over a 3 month period to get my $380 back that was clearly stated as a credit on my monthly statement showed.So thanks to BBB, I finally got my refund check from Sprint. I am still furious about the way Sprint treated me. I moved all of my companies lines over to Cingular now and I'll tell you that Cingular is so much better. I'm not saying the coverage and reception is great, but at least you can actually get something done when you call customer service.Just to refresh what happened to me. I cancelled my line before the 15 day "risk free" period was over because I had no service at my house and office with Sprint. after that, I could not get through the automated phone system due to not having an active account. And it was literally impossible to get a live person on the phone. Each time i did get through to a person, they would transfer me back to the automated system that again kept hanging up on me because I didn't have an active account. Sprint is one messed up company.

Sprint/Nextel is like being in a nightmare that will not end. They do what they do so that you will give up trying and once they have you locked in, you're screwed. They are worse than the phone company. Nextel merging with Sprint is like joining two big piles of crap into one huge pile of crap, once you are entrapped, you will never escape w/o giving up an arm or a leg. I truly despise that company.

I have never had a problem with Sprint. I have five phones with Nextel and frankly their customer service just plain sucks. Getting hold of a person is worse than having to put up with Claire!

I finally found a way to get some help with sprint. When you call tell them you are extermely unhappy and want to be transferred to retention. That is if you have sprint service. Everytime they help me (getting my bill right BTW getting closer) they issue a credit on my account.

I do like sprints service just not their billing, I think it is done somewhere in Asia.

and to everyone else. if you call sprint and say anything such as court or anything concerning sprint lively hood the call will be release by Sprint Policies....
