Sprint and alltel merger....I heard a few rumors but nothing solid. Anyone?

They're primarily a CDMA company, with roaming agreements in place with both Sprint & Verizon. In 2005, they bought Western Wireless, which gave them control of a GSM network, as well.

Sprint rep told me that they were in talks with Alltel, Alltel is looking for a buyer

they may be, maybe its cheaper to aquire a GSM carrier rather than institute your own GSM Network from scratch

Alltel has both cdma and gsm I believe.
