| Sprint Treo 650 Updater 1.13 Hope you don't mind, Chris, I didn't see a thread on this. The update can be found here.
I haven't tried it yet, as I'm at 1.12a...

| OK, I bit the bullet. I just finished the update, took about 25 minutes. I'll experiment a little and post my findings...

| You just got your Treo and you are already performing firmware upgrades.
Not sure, but I think 1.13 has some minor updates from 1.12a. If you had an older version, some of the updates are also bundled into 1.13. Either way, it's good to know how to update your firmware and now you've got the latest and greatest.
By the way, welcome to the forums... I hope you find the site useful and enjoy your stay!
-Chris

| The main changes in 1.13 are the integrated E911 updater, and improved memory handling. I was having occasional spontaneous resets before the update, and I have yet to have one since updating. I haven't noticed any significant speed improvements from the memory optimization, but data throughput does seem slightly faster.
Overall, the update seems stable so far... Quote: |

| Thanks for the welcome. I've actually been lurking here for about a month, as I made up my mind about the Treo. And now that I have mine, the reviews and threads on both accessories and software are very useful. I'm steadily developing a wish list for future purchases...

| One minor issue this morning, not sure if it was update-related or not: I was unable to make any type of data connection until I did a soft reset. Snappermail, Blazer, etc, would hang at the "Connecting to PCS Vision" stage...

| 2nd verse, same as the first I needed another soft reset to make any type of data connection this morning. I read two posts on TreoCentral that may be related. The first poster indicated that he was having to turn his phone off, then back on every day to make a data connection. Another poster indicated a problem with QuickNews. I've disabled auto-updates for QuickNews, to see what happens tomorrow morning. If the problem persists, I'll try just resetting the phone to see if that clears it.

I've been reading and trying to decide about the update - I'm still at 1.12a., and I've been getting the same thing since yesterday.
