    Default Sprint Upgrade Eligibility

Hey.. So I think I have decided to buy myself a Pre, but like a kid waiting for Christmas I can wait no longer! I have been dealing with my non-charging Treo for the last couple of months waiting to get a new phone...

My Sprint contract is available for a full upgrade on August 1, 2009.. Do any you happen to know if I spoke to a rep on the phone if they could move that up a week? Thanks!

My girlfriends contract is up in September and she already upgraded to the pre WITH her sprint discount ($150, $250 discount w/ pre). That is a couple of months from know. Both the guy on CS and in store said that she can upgrade early. You just have to tell them "hey i am looking to upgrade to the
with sprint. We have been with them for i believe 8-9 years. I know they have CS stages where you get more perks the longer you stay with sprint.

The guy in store told me also they have this new thing where if you spend like $180 a month with them or are a ten year customer you get special discounts PLUS your two year upgrade turns into just a year. So after just a year you can upgrade with the full upgrade eligibility.

Is Aug. 1st the day your available for an upgrade or the day your contract is up?

The reason I ask is because you can actually take advantage of the full discount upgrade 2 months before your actual contract is up.

It is the date I am eligible.. As it is I am already a Sprint Premier customer b/c of the length of time I have had Sprint.. So August 1 is actually my 1 year date on my 2 year contract..

Any reason you don't want to just call *2 and ask? Heck, the call is even airtime-free! :dft003:cool

Like menacekop said, if you're past month 22, you're eligible for new customer pricing. If you're premier, then you're eligible at month 12.

BTW: You probably should have posted this in the Sprint forum.

So did they bump your release date or not? My prediction is they won't, but hopefully they will.

It is $80.00 or mor a month and that makes you what they call a Sprint Premier customer

Just to report back.. Got somewhat mixed results... I was told that I would need to go into a Corporate store and the manager there may be able to help with a manager's discretion override. The only downside is that I would much rather have bought it at best buy and not have to deal with the mail in rebate...

I'm in the same boat dillinger, available for the $75 upgrade.....can't wait either...but I figured I've waited months now and 8 days isn't gonna kill me! Ok, it might but I'll tough it out!
