Sprint vs Verizon?

I travel the lower 48 myself and spend a lot of time in Texas. The voice quality of Sprint is great depending on the phone and headset. However, if you travel across I-80 From Salt Lake to Neb. don't expect alot! And the customer service is poor!!!

I have no idea what the people in Wyoming use for cell service..lol

I know it's not Sprint, Verizon or Cingular... Cheyanne, is the best you get out there for any of them... but then you are nearly to Nebraska by then.

Ever see 3 Ninjas where they run string with tin cans on the end to talk to their neighbor girl? That's Wyoming for ya.

And customer service is a sore spot with any service-related company. Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, Bank of America, American Express, Florida Power & Light Co, Comcast, DirecTV... I have a horror story with just about everybody.

I've roamed the 48 states pretty well over the last couple years...I can say without a shadow of a doubt, cingular beats verizon, and sprint beats them both as far as coverage goes. Verizon has far too many dropped calls where I would have full coverage. there are places my cingular or the verizon would simply have no service, where sprint is right up there.

My only problem with the customer service situation, is when there is a problem with the phone, where you need it replaced... I've had two first a Q... then the Treo... Both times of course I'm not even close to where I bought the phone. I had to run around Los Angeles looking for a Sprint store that had the service center in it... that had a Q to replace mine with... and again in Indianapolis with the Treo. I never know from week to week what part of the country I'm going to be in... They always say, well take it back to the store you got it... I have yet to have a messed up bill, but again I've only been with Sprint for a few months... You want to talk about screwed up bills...Give Verizon a shot! Tried them a few years ago for a month... first bill over 500.00, I called Cingular with my tail between my legs..." I'd like to come back now"... lol

im out in cali and from my experience there the same as far as service... but as for $$$$ sprint way cheaper.. my buddy pays $140 a month on verizon for unlimited data and text. and like 1300 anytime mins.... i pay $65 for that trough sprint LOL

I'm a current Verizon customer and want to get the 700p. Sprint seems to offer much more reasonable prices, but I hear a lot of negative things about Sprint performance/customer service. If I switch to Sprint I have to pay the early cancellation fee ($175) so I don't want to make the move if the phone performance will be much worse than Verizon.

Are there any Sprint users in the Philadelphia suburbs that can tell me about their experience with Sprint? I'm most interested in phone performance (dropped calls, clarity, etc.) than customer service info.

Sprint and Verizon are both good, Sprint is cheaper than verizon and i'm not too sure if they've still got it going on but theres this thing called the SERO plan, where you pay $30/month for unlimited data+500mins. PM me if you want more info on that SERO plan.

Anyhow, Sprint is pretty good. Not too many dropped calls good voice quality and all that. My only advice to you is STAY THE FU*K AWAY FROM CINGULAR/AT&T. THEY'RE GOOD FOR NOTHING BUT THE IPHONE, AND EVEN THE IPHONE SUCKS! :wink:

I've had both Sprint and Verizon. Sprint's customer service used to be aweful. They had a lot of other issues as well, but the new CEO Dan Hesse (my hero lol) has fixed it. I've had to call Customer Service a bunch of times recently since I changed my phone and some add on's and they were wonderful!!

Sprint cost wise is great! They're $99 everything plan has almost everything unlimited (except phone as a modem) and Verizon's $99 every plan, is just
unlimited minutes and then your bill goes up and up as you ad more things.

When I had Verizon my bill was consistently $400 a month because they kept changing my minute plan. I had 1350 and they would change it to 937 or something COMPLETELY random like that. They fixed it once and then they said I already had my "one time service credit" when they were the ones messing it up.

My husband still had Verizon when we went to San Antonio last year and he got no signal anywhere!! I was suprised such a large city wasn't covered by Verizon! I had perfect Sprint signal everywhere, of course.

The great thing about leaving Verizon is that they have a pro-rated cancellation fee. For every month you've been in contract they take $5 off the ETF!!

Although I have always heard Sprint is great service, and cheaper rates, I am wondering how they are or if they have family plans as comparable as Verizon or AT&T. We only pay about $150 for family plan with unlimited texting (very important in my family). Anyone have family plans on sprint, how many phones, how much do you pay a month?

I have a Data Share plan 1500. That includes: 1500 anytime minutes (shared) unlimited mobile to mobile (any sprint to sprint), unlimited evenings (7:00pm) and weekends, unlimited texting and data. the plan is $129 (includes 2 lines) and each additional line is 19.99 each. For 5 lines my average bill is about $235, after taxes/surcharges etc. I think its a pretty great deal.

About $75 more than what we pay now, but way more minutes (we share 700) and I love the 7:00 pm starting time for nights!
