Sprint vs Verizon?
I'm a current Verizon customer and want to get the 700p. Sprint seems to offer much more reasonable prices, but I hear a lot of negative things about Sprint performance/customer service. If I switch to Sprint I have to pay the early cancellation fee ($175) so I don't want to make the move if the phone performance will be much worse than Verizon.
Are there any Sprint users in the Philadelphia suburbs that can tell me about their experience with Sprint? I'm most interested in phone performance (dropped calls, clarity, etc.) than customer service info.
Thanks!

Don't know how much help I can be but I'm from that area and get there a few times a year on leave. When I'm there, my performance is great. Almost full signals everywhere, good clarity, no dropped calls. Wish it worked as good here in SC, where I live now.

im out in cali and from my experience there the same as far as service... but as for $$$$ sprint way cheaper.. my buddy pays $140 a month on verizon for unlimited data and text. and like 1300 anytime mins.... i pay $65 for that trough sprint LOL

All of the new plans are expensive. The new power vision from sprint is high but it is cheaper than alltel and it sounds cheaper than verizon too.
I am very happy with sprints service just not their support service on billings.

Just trying to learn and talk at the same time here.

verizon is also proprietary so they have no windows media player, they use their own and many other apps are theirs rather than the windows standard
I like sprint better

I have had some experience with both Verizon and Sprint... Throughout most of the 48 states. I can tell you that hands down, Sprints network is better than Verizon by a long shot. If you want to know... just let me know and I'll tell you what kind of service to expect anywhere.

On my Treo, I am using Windows Mobile media player, I do not have, nor do I have a Verizon-proprietary media player. In fact, I do not see any Verizon-proprietary apps on my Treo.

The reality is that the networks of Sprint and Verizon are extremely similar, you can expect the same mobile broadband speeds, similar coverage, and a virtually identical calling experience (i.e. clarity, nationwide network coverage, dropped calls). Sprint has recieved a lot of bad press for their customer service to be sure, however Verizon has it's own set of issues and I can tell you from experience that EVERY company has customer care issues (actually, T-Mobile is at the top of the customer experience pile). So sure you might have trouble with the call center reps, but the product and the service is great.

From my experience, I've roamed the 48 states pretty well over the last couple years. For a bit I had a partner with a verizon plan, me with my cingular and now sprint plan. I can say without a shadow of a doubt, cingular beats verizon, and sprint beats them both as far as coverage goes. Verizon has far too many dropped calls where I would have full coverage. there are places my cingular or the verizon would simply have no service, where sprint is right up there.
All Avatar photos taken from the cab of a moving Freightliner Century Classic, my office if you will. Enjoy!

I travel the lower 48 myself and spend a lot of time in Texas. The voice quality of Sprint is great depending on the phone and headset. However, if you travel across I-80 From Salt Lake to Neb. don't expect alot! And the customer service is poor!!!
