Default What am I Missing if I'm a Line on a Family Share Plan?

I have the option to get the Pre on my parents' Everything Data Share Plan instead of an individual plan. The benefit of this is obvious: Paying $20/mo instead of $70. But what will I be missing out on if I don't have my own plan?

Will I still get Premier upgrades? Or do I have to upgrade at the new customer price only after 22 months?

Will I be able to log into my palm profile without any problems?

Can I cancel on my own after 24 months if I want to?

Can I change to an individual plan without too much trouble if my parents decide to drop Sprint?

Anything else I should be concerned about?

Also, is it possible to pay a Sprint bill using more than one credit card, automatically? (So I can pay my portion and they can pay theirs?)

    You shouldn't have any problems.
    Upgrades are individual, per line.
Palm profile is linked to the phone, not the plan.
You should be able to drop the phone after 2 years, since there is a two year plan requirement to get the lower price.
If you parents decide to drop, you should be able to start a new plan fairly easily since you already have a phone.
The bill would be a little odd, and you would have to work it out with your parents. you can put more than one credit card into the online payment center within your parents account. They would have to pay whatever was decided and you would pay the rest, or vice cersa.

biggest thing you'll miss out on is privacy. Your parents will be able to audit your bill, see your call history, etc. SMS history is probably coming soon. In return, they accept liability if you blow out the minutes, so it's a pretty fair trade, if you ask me ;)

Your parents will get the Premier Customer discounts/statuses

Your Palm Profile is unique to the user, and you should have zero problems.

You should have zero penalty if you want to cancel after 24 months. However, your parents will have the authority to upgrade one of their phone via your upgrade eligibility, so keep the lines of communication open with them so there aren't any missteps.

Yes, lines can be added or dropped at any time (subject to penalties) however, your line may retain thier name until you are out of contract.
Anything else I should be concerned about?
I think its a smart move to stay on their data share plan.

Yes! When you pay via Sprint.com they hold in memory the last 3 credit card you used to pay your bill, you simply have to enter the correct CID number on the back of the card when you want to pay with your card. This too, i think is an excellent idea.
    Good Luck!

Great information here--I appreciate you taking the time to answer.

Sounds like I'm not giving up too much to get a serious discount. My parents and I have a good relationship, so I'm not too concerned about them messing with my line. Also, I bring a 25% EVP discount with me, so they have an incentive to keep me happy.

Come to think of it, they should be giving me my line for free, because the 25% discount more than pays for my $20 add-a-phone!
