Sprint has the 755P. My 650 is about on its last legs, so I'm going to find out if Sprint will do an isurance replacement for a 755P.
BTW, I moved your post here, as I thought it would get more replies in the Sprint forum.

Yes, the 755p is the overall newest one available through Sprint. If you need a Windows Mobile based Treo, the 700wx is the latest available. There are rumors of a new Windows Mobile for Sprint on the horizon, perhaps as early as Mid September but nothing has been confirmed by Sprint or Palm.

Speculation is running rampant that it's either going to be on the same form factor as the 750 that AT&T currently has and the 755p is a member of(no external antenna) ... or it may be the new rumored "Gandalf" form factor. The model numbers of 750w, 755w, 800, or 800w have all been rumored as potential designations for the next Treo. It's also rumored to be on the Windows Mobile 6 platform instead of the Windows Mobile 5.0 that is currently on the 700w/wx and 750.

It's all just a wait and see game...

PS on the Insurance Replacement - All three times I've used the Insurance on my phones, I've either gotten refurbs of the same model I was replacing or new-in-box older models of the phone (same brand, predecessor model). They have the same feature set so they follow the insurance rule that the replacement phone "will have the same features/capabilities, but may not be new". Haven't tried to replace a Treo yet... so who knows. Maybe the rules are different.

I'm hoping that since the 650 has already been discontinued by Sprint, that I'll at least get a 700P. And if the 700P is as much of a hassle as I've been reading, I think I can do a pretty good job of playing the irate customer and "demand" an upgrade... :tounge:

Manufacturers have typically blamed the lack of WiFi on battery life, but that didn't stop the iPhone from including it. It's the wireless companies who are opposed to WiFi. They are reluctant to give up data fees to users who find WiFi as a data plan replacement. On the iPhone, you must purchase data. I wouldn't be opposed to that if Palm would release WiFi in the Treo. For me, it's about speed. It's also very cool to pick up networks as you're browsing around town. Most of them are locked, but it's pretty entertaining when you find one that's open.

I would think the inclusion of WiFi in the iPhone could help manufacturers such as Palm when talking to the wireless providers about features in new smartphones. If they want to compete, they'll need WiFi. According to Gizmodo, the Treo 800w has WiFi.:laugh3:

As of right now the newest Sprint Treo is the 755p which runs on the Palm OS. As to a Windows version of that phone, I can't say as to when if, ever it will come out. One can only hope that if they do come out with a windows version in the 755p mold it doesn't have all the bugs that are inherent with the 700wx, or as sprint tech support calls it, the devil's phone.
