its not so much that it has to have the tmobile logo on it, but its a bit pricey to buy the generic one. it looks like my best bet is to go with cingular, even though i think tmobile is better.

    Default Cingular Treo 650

I know a number of people that have a Cingular branded Treo 650 and had it unlocked. You can get a password into a site that helps you extract the unlock code. It costs around $25 to $30.

In that scenario, you can buy a Cingular one and use it with T-Mobile. You can probably an unlocked Cingular branded one for a good price on ebay.

    Either way, good luck!!!

Lastly, have you ever heard of Craigslist?? I don't know where you live but www.craigslist.org is a free site that has ads just like ebay. Check it out if you don't know what I'm talking about.

    Default TMobile 650

I have no problem going outside of TMobile and buying a Treo 650, however my concern is getting the phone insured. That's why I've been waiting for TMobile to carry this phone.....and I don't want to switch plans, because TMobile offfers the best price plan presently. Does anyone have a solution for insurance????

Default Update on Tmobile and Treo 650

I am still using a Handspring Visor Pro with Tmobile service and have been waiting a long time to get a Treo 650 with my current Tmobile plan. I was told several months ago that Tmobile would not be getting the 650 because its extra features (above the 600) were not well supported by Tmobile, who is working on upgrading their system. Therefore they are going to sit out a model....Does anyone have any current updates on this situation??

Default no dice for treo 650's in T-mobile

They have debated over the releasing of treo 650's but decided to wait to release their "newer" pda which is an ipaq that hasnt come out yet. This info comes from a store manager that I know who has inquired on my behalf about treo's for t-mobile. They plan on releasing info this quarter about the other one. Sorry guys but we have to go with unlocked, or the slightly cheeper alternative, unlocking a cingular gsm by ourselves so that we can use it in T-mobile.

Well, it's October 22nd. So if it is coming in a few days there should be leaked news and rumours all over the internet. Anyway, we can wait a few more days, but personally I am skeptical.

Question: Does an unlocked (generic) Treo 650 work perfectly with T-mobile and an unlimited data plan? I mean is there anything that a Cingular Treo 650 can do better on Cingular's network?

    Thanks,

    Peter

I also talked to a few reps at t-mobile and they all stated the same. no plans of them offering the 650. they werent happy withthe sales of the 600 and decided to pass on the 650. i guess the blackberries are selling way better than the treo's. dont know why though i dont really care for the blackberries as much.
