Ok. So I've done everything I'm supposed to and the Handbrake has converted my dvd to a Quicktime?? file. I can't add the file to my Treo 650. What am I doing wrong?

There are two ways that I recommend bring large files to your Treo.
    1. If you have Missing Sync, you can launch the app Missing Sync from your Treo while connected to the USB port of your Mac. This will mount the SD card of your Treo on your Mac desktop. Drag the file over to the card.
    2. Purchase an SD card reader. Connect it to your Mac and then drag the file over to the SD card. Unmount the SD card and put it back in your Treo.
That's it. You might need to locate the AAC encoder. A goole search for TCPMP AAC plug-in should help you track it down. The commercial version Core Pocket Media Player includes the encoder.

    Yes. I have missingsync.
#1 is what I am trying to do. It's not allowing me to drop it.
Could this be happening if the SD card does not have enough room?
#2 card reader file didn't look right.
I am currently trying to use disk utility to make a copy since Handbrake only recorded 2.5 minutes of the dvd. (I wasn't aware of that when I posted last).
Question for you... If I was interested in spending the money on Popcorn2, would that program work with my Treo650? Just wondering if you might know.
    Thanks.

Just keeping you up to date.
I used disk utility to copy the movie. Then I dragged the file to the missing sync (on the treo)... the file is too big. Checked it out- it's like 7+GB. Now what? I'll keep pluggin' away at it but if you get the chance to reply, it might help.
    Thanx.

I'm starting to stress out... the kids are telling me to take a walk!

I own the frigin' movie, I should be able to copy it to my treo.
What's wrong with wanting FindingNemo on my Treo for Our next bus commute to the city? How do I get past this encrypted stuff without taking a college course on the subject? I want the file small enough to fit on the sd. Even half the movie would be better than none -watch half on the way there, put the other half on another card for the way back, but something tells me life is sweeter than that.

    thus so far...

I figured out how to rip (handbrake), then convert (kinomaproducer4.0 trial version), I'm getting a little confused. Can't handbrake convert as well? I've been searching for about 40 minutes for the illusive AAC codecs on the internet. Can't find em. Am I missing something?

    Got it!!

Wow! This is awesome and I was able to get rid of all of the software "trials".
Handbrake and TCPMP... free, free, free! I'm in TreoTopia.
Thanks for the help and the settings.

Were you able to successfully transfer the movie and watch on your Treo?

    Yes, but...

...I'ts only transfering about HALF of the movie and (this is strange), last night it transfered a little more than half of the movie and the whole thing played in black and white on my treo. Any ideas?

old thread but I got the movie to my treo but no sounds...I can play the video on my mac with quicktime just fine. Any ideas here.

I get a message that the audio decoder is not included it was removed because of intellectual property conciderations. But it plays on the mac.....
