Anyone know of a decent hack that will allow going to the Home screen without using two different buttons? I mean what a pain in the ass! why would they take a feature that was built into every palm since the beggining and make it a two step process? FCN-HOME instead of simply pushing the home button on the outside of every palm but this damn Treo!

Have you tried QuickSwitch ? It might do the trick. I too hate the home "key combo". Let me know how this turns out...

Nevermind! Im a dumb-ass. you can actually edit the buttons from within the preferences to map any of the four buttons on the front to the main "applications" desktop. so that takes care of that as long as you are okay with loosing one of your quick access buttons up front. I think its worth it.

I never thought of that.... One thing that i found helpful is Launcher X. Organized my app's into neat folders...I can use the Jog feature to rotate through the folders. So, I have my Web app's, Finance app's, Organizer and Game app's.

Thats cool, but also check out a little app I found called.
Button-T, it allows you to edit the scrool wheel and the flip up lid also! Very Cool.
search on PalmGear.com for it.

I've used Buttons-T before....but I had some issues with my phone not getting service. IMHO, I thought Buttons-T was the culprit. It might just be me... I know it's a popular little utility among Treo users. You can always try it...and if it gives you problems, just delete it. It's free :D

PowerJog is also a good program for this purpose. It gives more functionality to the jog dial; similar to that of a Clie. I also like it because it allows you to do a lot more functions without flipping the treo open. It costs $15, but you can use the free trial for a month to see if it's worth it. Here's the link on PalmGear:

That's what I do. I also found the power button inconvenient to reach on my Treo 90, so I downloaded a little app called ShutDown and mapped it to another button. Works great. You can find ShutDown here:
