I purhased a treo 300 at sprint store 2 days ago for 449.00 including car charger. the actual sprint stores are giving an additional instore 50.00 rebate I'm running os 10.1.5 on an ibook and using palm desktop 4.0
i've had no problems syncing with my mac the key is purchasing the missing sync vers. 3.0 from mark/space.com

ps ive also had none of the mentioned problems with data network, the net and pop 3 mail (with eudora) work great, used to have visor phone with voicestream and had to dial into provider, sprint vision blows this away.

I have OS 9.2, and I'm unable to hotsync. Not even thru I.R. But, i did manage to beam over my address book from an old Palm.

The handspring sales rep who sold me the 300 ASSURED me that it would work with my Mac. She lied. >

Try Mark/Space's Missing SYNC software. You can find it at http://markspace.com/missingsync.html

Hope this helps!

I just bought the Treo 300 and was also lied to at the Sprint store. I asked about Mac compatibility and much more and was lied to about it and other things. It looks like people have had success w/missing sync. I visited the website and it says it is only for Clie devices. Does it work well under OSX? Are there any features that I wouldn't be able to use?

Thanks

Missing Sync works with the Treo even running Jaguar on my powerbook.

My problems are with Sprint where I've spent like 15 hours trying to get the business connect software sh*t to work. it's a piece of total junk.

don't buy it.

Not to mention the complete turd of a website. SprintPCS.com. A total joke

I bought the Treo 300 in part based on some of the posts I've seen which say it can be used with the Mac. I am running OSX 10.2, and Palm Desktop 4.0, and the 300 is hanging immediately after pressing the Hotsync button (either the cable or the screen button). Any thoughts? Would Missing Sync somehow work better than the standard Sync?

I am using Missing Sync on a G4 dual processor with no problems. I couldn't get the 300 to be recognized without it. I have also had problems with Sprints horrible service. Just switching my plans has taken 14hours of my time. That's no exaggeration, I've tracked it because of past problems. I don't know how they get away with it. I have never heard anyone say anything positive about Sprints customer service. You can't get the same person twice and no puts notes so you must start from scratch each time. How about an Enron style investigation into their business practices. BTW- I love the phone in spite of Sprint. I just wish it rang louder, I miss call because of the enemic ringers and vibrate sometimes.
