[SIZE=7][FONT=Optima] Hi everyone. I'm trying to sync my Treo 300 with my iMac running OS 9. I read that the missing sync app does the trick, so I bought it, retro-graded to the required version of the palm desktop software (after carefully erasing all palm & hotsync software on my mac), installed missing sync, made the
necessary adjustments to the hot sync set up, and tried to hot sync. I have tried this twice to no avail. Am I missing something? Has anyone got their Treo to sync with OS 9? (I have synced with my ibook at work running OS X with no problems.) Any help anyone could give me would be most appreciated.

Hi All,
New poster here. Anyways...I am seriously considering the Treo 300 and as an existing Sprint customer, I was wondering if there are any good deals for this phone out there? Any thoughts??
Thanks!

Have you downloaded the latest Palm Desktop software from Handspring's site? I'm using Palm OS 4.0 downloaded from Handspring' site. I haven't had to use Missing Sync, but I am also on OS X.

Here's an exerpt from an email reply i got after asking Handspring tech support about the same problem:
We understand that you are experiencing difficulties hotsyncing. You stated that you are
receiving the error message "1852402768 synchronization failed". We will provide you with a series of steps to resolve your issue. Please follow these steps:
To solve HotSync log error 1852402768, do the following:
1. Go to the System:Extensions folder.
2. Find the extension "Palm Conduit Library" and drag it on to your desktop.
3. With the Palm Conduit Library file highlighted on your desktop, press the
Apple Key (command key) and Y (this is also found in the menu bar under File
| Put Away). This action should throw the file back into the extensions
folder.
4. Perform a HotSync operation.
This fixed the problem for me, although I had to do it again after a few hotsyncs. I've installed OS 10.2 (jaguar) now so I don't have that problem any more.

Is anyone in this group using iCal. It seems to bring all the calendars into one big calendar.
-
Doug-
I used iCal for a few weeks. I transferred all my data from Entourage to Address Book using vCards. It was an attempt to use all Apple products: Mail, Address Book and iCal. In theory, it sounds good. I found iCal to be EXTREMELY slow. However, it was the Mail app that i couldn't deal with...Matter of fact, I still can't deal with it. I've got some type of "alert" feature turned on within iCal that's launching Mail. Very annoying. I'm still open to making the change should MacWorld bring some major improvements on all of the above. For know, it's Entourage and Palm Desktop...and my Treo of course :P

Have you heard anything about updates at MacWorld?

Not sure about improvements...but then again, Apple never announces. Here's the buzz though:
Steve Jobs said earlier this year that 2003 would be the most important year in Apple's history, that it would see several new product introductions and revisions of existing products that will make unprecedented progress in growing Apple's platform -- both in the personal computing space and also in the Digital Lifestyle Device (DLD) arena.

A belated thanks to Randy.....his suggestion worked beautifully. I can now sync my 300 with both my OS 9 and OS X computers.
Thanks again,
Podo
