I recently purchased a TiBook 1Ghz and a Treo300. After hearing about Apple's release of the 17" powerbook, I am definitely taking my 1Ghz back and replacing it (fortunately, I am still within the 10day return window, although I have to take a 10% or $300 hit, but I digress...) I keep hearing horror stories about syncing problems between the powerbook and the Treo300. Is there any truth to this? Should I return my Treo300(I have not yet activated it.)
Another question....it's looking like I won't get the 17" for 7 to 10 weeks as I write this. Does anyone know or think they know if a new Treo will be released? Perhaps a bluetooth enabled Treo300??
I have also heard that the web browser on the Treo is horrible - true or false?
Last question...does anyone know if Handspring is planning to utilize Bluetooth at all? (esp. on the Treo series)
Any additional info you may wish to contribute is invited.
I haven't had any problems syncing using os 10.2.3 using my Treo 300. I have seen a few horror stories...not sure if they are iSync related. I believe the iSync software does something to the HotSync software. The Blazer web browser is as good as the "mobile friendly" pages you are visiting. It does a great job w/ the mobile sites. It's impossible to compare it to full fledged browsers like IE or dare I say Safari :D
Ok. I've found out the issue. Apparently, installing the new iSync just disables other conduits. You can found more info and detail at the Apple Knowledge Database
I've got a TiBook and have sucessfully "synced" with the 300 since I picked it up back in September. Did run into the "iSync overwriting other conduits" issue, since resolved. Sticking with Entourage as my PIM for now, so no iSync required.
