I just set up TreoSMS on the 300. I'm putting it through the paces and was curious as to how others have fared? I noticed in the read me that messages can take up to 13 hours when sending to different carriers. That kind of kills the whole "cool factor" of SMS. One thing I miss from my 180 was the smooth SMS capabilities. It smokes my 300 and the Nokia didn't stand a chance. I'm hoping this app will do the trick.

I noticed a workaround is to have users send an email SMS? Is this possible from my regular phones?

    Thanks in advance.

Count me as a customer. From what I understand, Sprint will not be offering the capability to send SMS. They are only working on the receiving part. You just have to have the correct email extension to send SMS via email. For example 516-555-1212 would be 5165551212@voicestream.net.

Works like a charm. Easily worth $19.95... Kudos to the folks at PDAapps...

I bought TreoSMS because of the problems I had with SMS on the Treo 300. I called Sprint PCS customer service the other day and requested that they credit my account for the cost of purchasing TreoSMS since they had no plans on modifying the system. They promised to credit my account. It was easy, maybe too easy . I will check my statement in a month to see if I actually get a credit.

I have used TreoSMS for a week now and just bought it. Really like it. I only have my brother to test it with so my results are limited. It seems to happen within a minute of sending a message and that is nice. I had a Treo 180 and it was awesome... true INSTANT. But, as stated above, SMS is certainly worth the $19.95.

It seems to me that messages over 119 characters are truncated on my Treo 300. I expected at least 160 characters. Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong?

I have successfully used my SMS after being told by a Sprintpcs rep over phone that Treo 300 did not have SMS capabilities (regardless of treosms software). He also told me that SMS was not in the user guide for the Treo300. Unbelievable!! did not take that long a couple of minutes.
