Default Anyone use a hands free car kit

I've tried the parrot 3200 colour and this had terrible sound at the caller end. Used another phone and all was well. Tried a cable hands free and this is OK as is a Palm bluetooth ear piece. Has anyone found a reliable and good sound quality bluetooth car kit for the Palm 500. Thanks Neil

Hi Neil, I have just registered as a new user in this site for the same reason as you. Have tried the Palm 500 on O2 with 2 different parrot 3200 car kits, with terrible call quality at the other end. Used with a nokia phone the car kit is fine. I am looking for a bluetooth headset instead now. Have you managed to sort out your problems and what have you done? Your thoughts are appreciated. Regards, Phil

Have also tried the Nokia Bluetooth kit and this had the same problem although not quite as bad as the Parrot. The Palm over the ear seems fine (eBay for £8) but not very comfy. I tend to use the cable in the ear with mic until I find a better solution. Other than that I find the 500 fine for the money, well free on O2, windows mobile is a bit clunky, especially when running third party apps to improve the calendar views. I will keep trying for Bluetooth and post anything I find. Cheers Neil

Neil, Thanks for the response. I have managed to trace the Jabra headsets, which are allegedly compliant with our phone, models BT 8040, BT530, BT4010. I am going to give one of them a try and will keep you posted.

    Thanks,
    Phil

The Palm BT over the ear is fine but not very comfy. I am looking for a BT external speaker and mike solution. Maybe I'm asking too much. Neil

    Hi Neil,

Let me know how you get on. Its just a shame that the Treo 500 is fiddly to use with the car kits.

    Cheers
    Phil
