contact shows up as unknown caller

When i text my friend and she replies it shows up as unknown caller. but her name is in the contact list... what gives?

on a side note, how do i change the main ringtone?

how do you have it saved? for example if you do not have the area code in front, it will not recognize it. let me know.

....and if you want a ringtone that is pre-installed on the phone, go to 'Sounds' and pick something there...otherwise you would need to download a ringtone program and have a SD card in order to change it to one of your favorite songs. what kind of treo do you have?

do you actually have the () around the area code? try taking them off and removing the space after the 1. look like this....12345678910. also are u reading from your contacts from your sim card or from the phone?

An unknown caller can appear if the caller has chosed to not disclose his or her number when making a call. Maybe you can ask your friend if the issue appears with her other callers as well..
