Moto Q vs Treo 500 Having spent a lot of time with the Moto Q, the new Treo 500 is similar in so many ways. The first being the OS. For those who haven't used Windows Mobile Smartphone (now called Standard) is a vast departure to Professional (formerly known as PocketPC) and of course the Palm OS. Those who take the leap with the new Treo 500 can expect a good library of software and infinite amounts of tweaking. Everything Q is filled with ways to tweak and modify the Moto Q. I'd expect the same from Treo 500 users.
It'll be interesting to see what GUI improvements Palm has implemented. To a fault, Motorola hasn't done much to improve the GUI of Windows Mobile. The Moto Q 9m is the only attempt, but won't appeal to the larger audience as it's geared mostly to media.
This Treo also appears wider, again similar to the Q. This makes it difficult for one-handed operation. Curious as to how thick the device is compared to the Q.
Why did it take over a year for Palm to enter this market? Obvious questions...when will we see it here in the US? GSM = AT&T. How does this new Treo fit into their product line with the iPhone and Moto Q Global.
The naming convention of products is getting more and more confusing. Centro is supposedly the lower-end device, but it has touch screen. The Treo 500 is a Treo, but has the 500 moniker, making it a lesser Treo than previous generations?
