Default Back Lighting

Hello everyone, I'm having a problem that I hope is programming. While typing (sometimes in a dimly lit room), the backlighting ON THE KEYS goes away, while the typing window stays lit. I'm wondering if I can program the keys to stay on while I'm typing?

Thanks so much!

Have you tried pressing "option" & "p" that's ment to turn on the backlight, but I don't know how long for....
Does the keyboard lighting go off while you are still pressing keys, or only after you pause for a bit?

I'm not sure. I think the keyboard light goes out while I'm typing. The option P just dims the light.

Yeah, Option+P should turn on the keyboard backlight & dim the screen a little so it's easier on the eyes in low light - sort of a "night mode".

But if turns off while you're actually typing it sounds like something else. I'm only new to the treo, but I haven't heard of any other way to adjust the backlight (unless you have a 3rd party application on there doing something?)
