Do you mean the serial/model number for the battery or the serial number for the phone itself?
If it's the battery, I've heard the best way is to get a wooden toothpick & prise out the caps on the back, then you need a number 6 (from memory) torx screwdriver for the screws, but I'd be carefull pulling the back off - especially if it's still under warranty
