Default Broken antenna

Hi All,

Sadly I've managed to lose my antenna on my Treo 600. According to any websites I've searched (including Handspring) the antenna is not available as a spare part. All they can suggest is that I buy an entire new unit again!
Does anyone know of where I can possibly buy a new antenna from? Given the imminent release of the 650 I certainly don't want to buy a new phone but on the other hand, I 'd hate to go back to my old phone (and give up the great QWERTY texting, etc etc).

Cheers,

jon

Did you have insurance on your phone? If so, call your provider and they'll replace your phone for a small fee. I read somewhere that they aren't readily available. Does it make sense. No, it's completely stupid. You have to return a perfectly good Treo 600 for an antenna. If you don't currently have insurance, I wonder if you could sign up and enter a claim shortly thereafter. Not the most ethical, but either is selling a $600 smartphone without replacement parts.

Good luck dude!

Insurance? You are joking! Normally I change phones so often that it has never felt worth it...until now. I suppose I could try some 'retrospective insurance' but I don't feel so comfortable with that. I just can't believe that they don't provide an antenna as a spare part (given how easily they must be able to unscrew from the unit).

Anyway, thanks for your response.

cheers,
jon.

I understand. They will turn around and put the $2 part on the phone and send to someone else who has a problem. So, it's not as if they are taking a $600 loss.

Good luck.
