can you make your own ringtones?????

I have been trying to make my own ringtones and have been unsuccessfull, does anyone know of a program or how I would go about doing this?

There's this program you could try called Ringo Pro. You could make ringtones or download/buy them at their website. The program costs just a few dollars (I've forgotten exactly how much) and it works great. I recommend it, but there are a few limitations on it, like you could only use the sound patterns they give you (I'll have to check back with you on that). I am a new treo 600 user and am having issues with setting ringtones/sounds to my people on my contact list and in general. I downloaded the free sound recorder and it works well but when I go to a contact in my favorites to change the ringtone the only options I have are the tones in my sounds folder; which only has the tones that came with the phone. I would like to be able to take the recorded sounds and make them my ringtones, how can I do this?
If you're about to say I need rindo or lightwav; I tried to download them from my treo 600... but get an error: something about file not supported.

yes you can create your own ring tone.

I used the "record" feature of my Treo 600 and whistled the tune Dixie.

Then I selected that as my ring tone and it works great!

simple but effective... if you can whistle.

Can you give me a link to the message u are refering to as I do not see a message "possible way" listed in this thread.

What "record" feature are you refering to? As my Treo 600 did not come with one that I know of? Or did u download an application with this feature?
