My touch screen has gone unresponsive. The cursor wheel can still navigate most of the screens however I can't enter new contacts or appointments. Does anyone have a solution. I have used the reset button to no avail.

My touch screen also died and Verizon tech support advised me to do a "hard" reset. Step three of the hard reset requires you to tap the moving target on the screen, and of course my touch screen was unresponsive-the original problem. Thanks to Verizon tech support, my phone is now frozen in step three of the hard reset, and now the tech support folks tell me it's a dead phone!!

Oh what to do, what to do.... delo50:frown:

I just found a solution to the problem I described above. It's called a "warm reset," and I found it in a Q&A section on this site. My phone is now working again. All my data was wiped out (the hard reset does this), but it's all backed up. Here's the instructions for the "warm reset," and who knows what other Treo 600 problems it can cure!:laugh3:

A system reset stops whatever the device is doing and starts over again, bypassing any system extensions. This is a good way to get out of a "boot loop" error, and allows you to remove any recently installed third-party applications that might be causing the problem.
    1. Press and hold the UP button on the front of your device.
    2. While holding the UP button down, use your stylus to push the Reset button on the back of your device.
    3. When you see the "Palm Powered" screen appear, you can release the UP button.
    4. Remove any recently installed applications that may have cause the problem.
    5. Do a Soft Reset.:laugh3:

    Default Dead Touch Screen

I went through the provider to no avail. I found a reseller shop that does repairs. The service tech told me that although not common he has seen a few Treo's with the dead screen. I replaced the screen, $50.00 and it has been working well ever since.
