Can anyone point me in the right direction to get a simple explaination of how to set up my Treo 600 to access my company email which does not support the POP3 protocol, but will support IMAP (so I'm informed)?

Do I need software? Additional Service (I've got a data account already with Cingular and am already accessing other email accounts)?

Neither Cingular nor Palm seem to have any easy to understand information (at least which I could find and understand) about what's involved here... I had assumed when I bought the PDA and signed up for service it wouldn't be this difficult.

Thanks for any ideas or guidance.

I would suggest visiting www.snappermail.com. They offer the most feature rich email client around. I believe they have a trial to see if it works for you. Good luck!

SnapperMail appears to support POP3, but not IMAP... am I missing something?

Snapper just launched their public beta of Snappermail with IMAP support version 2.0. Have another look!

If your Company uses a Network (Server based) and uses Microsoft Exchange on the server, you have several readily available options:

Visto Messagexpress
Basejet

The above 2 both use Push Tecnology where they send New Mail to your PDA

Dataviz InBox to Go, uses Manual/Scheduled retrieval where as your PDA has to call into the server to pickup mail...

All of the above 3 use a Redirector which is installed on the client (Your work computer) which captures newly recieved email and mirrors it to your PDA.

You should read up on all 3 to see which one best suits your needs

All 3 have yearly service charges for use:

Visto - 99.00 per year
Basejet - 49/69 12/24 months
InBox to Go - Yearly fee not determined yet

I am currently a beta tester for another product which I can not discuss at this time which blows all of the above out of the water...

Question Do I need more software to get my e-mail??

I am reading through these messages and not really understanding what I am reading. I assumed that I could just have my treo 600 pick up my e-mails off of Road Runner. However, something is giving me the idea that this is not the case. Do I need some other piece of software, so other service to sign up for? I have web access already from t-mobile. Is this not enough? If someone could explain the process to me I would really appreciate it. :o

The built-in mail app-Versamail-may be all you'll need.

Since the original post was from 6/2004, has this product been released, or has your NDA expired so you can talk about it?
