Has anybody had this phone problem?

On my Treo 600, when I use the phone, the person at the other end of the call hears a loud buzzing sound. Has anybody else ever had this problem? I worry that my microphone has gone bad in the phone. Or could it be a software issue with the phone?

I assume your not using a hands-free unit? Try using a hands free unit to see if you can isolate the issue. Either way, you should not be experiencing this issue. When did you get your Treo?

The problem goes away if I use the hands-free speaker/microphone combination, AND if the plug from the speaker/microphone is in the socket in the right position. So maybe the problem is with the built-in microphone in the Treo, which was purchased about Nov or Dec. 2003.

I have the same problem if I am using the handset, speakerphone or hands-free. Any suggestions? I've had the phone for about a year and the problem has gotten worse in recent months.

A lot of carriers know about this problem. When I had my 600 I called Tmobile about it and the customer service rep heard he buzzing sound. He sent my new phone in 2 days.

I went to the Tmobile store yesterday and the will be sending me a new or refurbished phone in a few days. That works great for me, mine was getting pretty dinged-up. Beside, I am not comfortable taking the phone apart and using aluminum foil as a solution.

I know you guy's talked about this in March, but I just joined. I get a lot of background noise? People say they can't hear me when I am driving because of all of the background noise? Does anybody have this problem?

i have the same problem but only when i use speakerphone. so i just use a headset instead.
