remove battery and reconnect. battery connection becomes loose every 2-3 months. by fixing the connections, you will solve your dropped calls problems

The battery used by the 600 is a permanent battery - soldered connections. It does not become loose, though it can become corroded and more importantly, it can wear out, which necessitates a replacement via surgery.
Battery life from your description - needs replacement.
Also, volume issues are real with the 600. VolumeCare handles that issue - http://www.gotreosoftware.com/products/VolumeCareBasic/.

my battery for the 600 is not permenant. so my solution works for everyone with a replaceable battery. very few treo 600's are permenant batteries.read the other battery threads.

The stock Treo 600 requires the removal of several screws and taking the case apart in order to get to the battery. The battery is connected to the circuit via solder. Bad choice on my side, but it is not what one would consider as user friendly to change as the current release of Treo. My 600 was with me for three years before I finally got rid of it (kept it when I got the 650) and the connection did not become loose. The battery eventually required replacement because it wore out.

well for the others who do have a removeable battery, reconnecting the battery solves the droped call issue. i know because i had the same problem on my treo 600 and i fixed it by reconnecting the battery and now it works perfectly. i spent alot of time find a cure and if your battery is not hard wired this will solve the problem right away. by the way i still have the 600 and am using today.

Thank you for the confirmation. Most people are not in the habit of working on their own devices and as stated above, the stock/non-modified 600 battery is wired in. Opening it requires a small Torex screw driver (#5 I think, but I frankly do not remember), an area of sufficient size to capture screws that like to run away, et cetera. Regardless of whether removable or not, making the battery changeable (not just changing the battery) requires the addition a modification to the wiring and connectors.

wierd both 600's i have have a removeable battery, most therds dealing with droped calls on the 600 recommend changeing the battery out. but its the reconnection act itself that solves the problem(by the way its a T6)
