System Tools or Repair Help, I can't change ringtone

I have tried several times to chage the ringtone on my phone. I have tried two different ways. It says it is changed but it will only ring one tune. It never changes regardless of the tune I cange it to. Can anyone help?

First off, welcome to everythingtreo.com.

Changing your ringtone should be easy. Select Applications > Preferences > Sound. Click on the TONES selection. You can set Known Caller ID and Unknown Caller ID. If you want to change your ringtone to use MP3's, then you'll need a program such as CallFilter, Lightwav or Ringo.

Hope this helps..

Default I have Ringo

I have Ringo, and that is one of the ways I tried to change it. It says it will play the MP3 that I have selected, but when it rings it is the same old standard ring. So what it tells me on the preference screen, and what it is actually doing is two different things. Any other thing I might be overlooking?

Thanks
KT

One thing I noticed on their site...
Quote:
Full Ringo functionality, but requires 3rd-party MP3 player* for MP3 ringtones
Ringo Pro

Which version do you have? Do you have PocketTunes?

It says I have Ringo Pro. I am so frustrated. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Default Try this

If you have Ringo Pro, just open the app and you should see a screen with default ringtone and sms ringtone followed by incoming call display.
tap the name of the default ringtone, and there should be a drop down menu with "pick mp3 ringtone" at the top.
tap this and you should see a list of the mp3's stored on your SD card. Tap the one you want, and voila'.
Note: you have to have mp3's stored on your SD card for this to work.

Best,
Eric

Default Addendum

I forgot to mention that you must also assign a ringtone to each of your groups. Tap menu and then groups. there's an edit button, bottom left of the screen.
Hope this helps. ;)
