Default How to play music from SD card in 600?

I just bought the Treo 600 yesterday and am also a computer novice. So speak slowly and clearly please... I transferred music from Windows Media Player to an SD card via a card reader using the "Sync" operation on the Windows Media Player window. When I put the SD card in my 600 to play the songs using PocketTunes, I only see a file named "Palm" and "launcher". Nothing happens when I select any of those files. I was hoping a window would open to show me the 2 test songs I had transferred. My Treo recognizes my SD card, but does not show the songs I want to see. Do I need to format the SD card first? Do I need to create any directories for the music to go into? What is the root directory and what do I do with it? I feel frustrated and stupid, but don't know where else to turn. I would greatly appreciate any help you can give this new Treo girl! Many, many thanks!

Default Music Software (See Real Player)

I had the same issue.

I finally downloaded the latest real player for my computer. Then downloaded RealPlayer for Palm. Once you install it through hotsynch, run the application on the palm. Also, make sure you have a SD card in the slot.
Then, open up the RealPlayer application on the computer, drag files over to the transfer area, and voila!

ps, get the stereo adaptors.
pps, you may want to have the Palm format the card as well before you do it again.

Default Thanks for the music!

jamjam786:

It was so nice of you to respond to my question as I hadn't really expected an answer. Turns out, I figured out that I simply needed to change a setting in my Windows Media Player to convert the files to MP3 in order for the T600 to recognize them. I feel silly, but have learned alot...and still learning more. Thank you for taking the time to try to help me. I will definately be checking in to see what else I can learn from this site.

Thanks again! C

P.S. I'm now a dancing fool! :D
