Default Pocket Tunes (and Realplayer) headset problem

Until yesterday, I was able to play mp3s on my Treo 600, which would stop when a call was received, then resume when the call was ended. I got a pair of "Skull Candy" headphones that also act as a phone mic, as I liked that you could hear a phone caller in both ears. Anyway... Last night, the music simply stopped playing in the headphones. It still plays fine in the Treo speaker, but no dice with the headset. The headset still works for the phone... The cable for this headsetcame with both 2.5mm and 3.5mm connectors, and I just tested them, they work fine, only not in Pocket Tunes. I also reinstalled Pocket Tunes with no change.

Ok quick update.... I just remembered I have Realplayer on here too, and it's not working there either....

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Thanks in advance

Default My previous problem seems minor now...

I did in fact figure out the problem. I had to make a minor adjustment in "Freedom" to allow the use of headphones etc. But..... since last weekend my Treo 600 ceased being a pleasure to use. It's reset several times. I tried to delete some apps (Zap1016 among others) and as soon as I scrolled toward them to attempt to delete....boom, crash. Trying to dial #'s more often than not, after I try to either dial from favourites, or manually, the screen simply returns to the dial pad. When I receive a call, I try to answer it and sometimes it fails to answer at all, and when it does answer, the caller cannot hear me, and all I hear is static. It's a mess, the phone is almost worthless to me in it's present state, and 2 hard resets have not helped. I have almost no software on the phone (Lightwav, Pocket Tunes, Freedom and Realplayer) so I doubt that is the problem. And in fact until Friday everything worked fine. Having said that, I did pay for the full version of Lightwav and Freedom that morning, and updated the phone. But if that were the problem, it would have stopped on a hard reset, right? It hasn't.... Some problems are intermittent, others are all the time. Has anyone ever heard of these symptoms?

    Thanks again for the reply.

By the way, I think we have to just get used to medium volume music, as the Treo seems to distort at higher levels despite the quality of the headphone device....

dam that would suck! when you did your two hard resests didi you remove most of the unwanted applications you have installed through your hot sync on you desk top pc? even though you delete them on your treo they still are part of your hot synce and may install the software even though you don't see an icon for each type of software you might of hot sync to your treo before! I know it's common for the treo to reset it's self but in your case seems quite troublesome! how long have you had your treo for now? have you reported the issue to your wirless provider? have you spoken to Palm?

For your volume troubles, try a headset with a volume control. The one I have seems to work fine. As for the headsets with a mic well I have spoken to Sprint and they said they don't always work well for the Treo 600

    Default reset

    Hello Squishyj58,

This is Kevin from palmOne. Unexplained resets are very often the result of third-party software incompatibility. At this point, you might consider running your Treo without third-party software for a little while to see if any issues arise. To set this up, a hard reset is necessary, but the Backup folder must also be renamed so that this software is not automatically reinstalled on the next hot synch. The procedure for this can be found in the palmOne Knowledge Library article "Diagnosing problems caused by third party applications". Then reinstall the programs, one by one. Give each program some time to operate on your phone before installing the next one, it will help insure nailing down the offending program. And don't forget to keep any registration codes handy for when you reinstall.

    Sincerely
    Kevin
