Default Question about charging my Treo 600

Hi!

When I plug the power cord into the Treo and then plug it into the wall the LED by the antenna turns solid amber until the unit is fully charged. It then turns solid green.

When I plug the power cord into the USB hot-sync cable and then plug in the Treo, it doesn't do the same thing. There is no apparent change to indicate that the unit is charging. I have tried this with 2 different sets of cables and I get the same results. Palm tells me this is incorrect and that the LED should change to amber while charging. Verizon tech support tells me that I should see a "brighter" flashing green LED when charging in this fashion.

Anyone have any experience with this process...? I would just like to know what it is REALLY supposed to display when charging through the USB cable.

Thanx!
Al

My light is a steady red when charging and goes to a steady green when complete. Blinking green when phone is unplugged from the charger. I've only seen the amber light once and I can't recall what the situation was.

Default Charging

Thanks for the reply. Amber/red - hey my wife always tells me I'm color blind!

My question is this - what happens when you plug the charger into the USB cable and then plug the USB cable into your Treo? Does the light turn solid amber/red, or does it just continue to blink green?

Not trying to sound condescending but did you buy the optional USB w/power cable? (I think they call it "the laptop cable" or something like that) If you are using the hotsync cable that has 3 ends you need to connect a power supply to it in order to charge.

If you read my initial post you will see that I specify plugging in the power cord to the USB cable. That's my question. Should the LED perform the same when you recharge this way as opposed to plugging the power cord directly into the Treo?

Yeah, mine acts the same regardless of what I use to charge it. Red/auburn til it is fully charged and steady green after. Flashing when not connected. Maybe a bad cable?
