I have a Treo 600 that I am NOT using a phone, but has a T-Mobile SIM card for internet browsing, e-mail, etc. I set it up with the POP and SMTP server info from my RoadRunner e-mail account, and receive but cannot send e-mail. I am using the e-mail software that came with it, do I need to upgrade to Snapper or Eudora or?? Thanks in advance for any answers you provide.

I had a similiar problem. go to fastmail.fm and purchase a acount. one time $15 fee. You will now have access to their outgoing mail server. use your road runner incoming server and the fastmail outgoing server. worked for me.

Did this work for you??
Before I spend $15 just for the convience of getting my e-mail I want to be sure this works? Has anyone else tried this or has anyone gotten RR to work without it? Please advise! :o

It is NOT possible to use your Roadrunner POP3 account to SEND mail from you Treo (or ANY device for that matter). You can only retrieve mail. To COMPOSE mail using your Treo, you'd have to use the Roadrunner web client (web site).

I still cant get my Treo to recieve my road runner email. Keep getting an authentication error

i read somewhere that you could use gmail's server for free. I am trying to find it myself so i can use it to send out mail

Use carrier's email service to send
I had a problem getting my Treo to send using my office IMAP server. We solved the problem by setting up Treo 650 (Emil Account Set up) to receive mail from IMAP server, but send (in my case) from Sprintpcs account.

The configuration is pretty simple. Are you using Versamail or a 3rd party client like Snappermail or Chattermail?
