    Default Sprint to Cingular

    Aloha,

    I just purchased a Treo 600 from a guy who said it was unlocked, but when I spoke to him, he did not know what unlocked meant. I want to know if there is a way to unlock the phone for use with Cingular. I am new to the Treo, so any help would be appreciated. If you can help, please e-mail me .

    If you intend to use a Sprint Treo 600 with Cingular, it can't be done. Sprint uses a CDMA network and Cingular uses a GSM network. The hardware internal to the Treo 600 is different for each of those cellular networks.

    Default Verizon to Cingular

    I am sorry, the treo is from Verizon, not sprint. But the same question applies, Please help if you can.

    Verizon is CDMA as well, so the same problem.
