Question Strange Keypad Issue

About a month ago 3 keys on my Treo 600 (U,J,N) just went dead. I did hard/soft resets...but nothing seemed to work. Since I'm waiting for the 700p, I limped along bringing down the keyboard when I had to. Then after about 3 weeks, the keys worked again..out of the blue.

Now, all of a sudden I, K, M, the backspace, and the home key have died on me. This is MUCH more inconvenient.

Any ideas?

Default Fixed It

The problem got worse last week. More keys not working.

So....I opened the case (as though to change the battery),
looked at the keypad area to see if there were any problems (dust,
etc.), found nothing.

Put the unit back together...and now it works like a dream!

congratulations!!
I would like to know how you opened the case, it seems that there are no bolts to be screwed.
Thank You

There was a link in a post in 2005 about changing the battery in a Treo 600.

You will need a special screw driver (torx #6) that has a head that looks like a star.

The link shows you how to remove the cover, step by step...with pictures!

Hope it helps.

Thanks alot,
I have opened the case and checked out all components, but I still have the hanging problem (all keys are suddenly frozen).

Sorry that you still have the hanging problem. Maybe someone else can weigh in on what to try next.
